Techsmith Camtasia

Camtasia is packed with features - especially the animation effects, video effects, annotation tools, and screen recorder - designed specifically for educational video productions. I use it to make most of my educational videos. It is the most versatile software for instructional video-making. 

Techsmith Snagit

I use Snagit mostly for taking screenshots. Although both Windows and Mac come with screenshot apps, using Snagit speeds up my screen capture process by 10 folds.  

Plotagon - 3D Animated Movies

This 3D animated movie creator app is designed for people with no background or experience in animation movie-making. When creating skit-based animated movies for educational purposes, I prefer Plotagon to high-end apps and live-action movies. According to my research, Plotagon movies are as pedagogically effective as live-action movies.   

Text-to-Speech (TTS) Tools

I frequently use TTS tools to create voiceover narrations for my videos and PowerPoint presentations. Although I am comfortable with recording my own voice, I still use multiple voices to improve message coherence and increase viewer engagement.    

Voice Cloning

I cloned my voice so that I could use my own voice for text-to-speech (TTS). My TTS voice sounds just like me, and it's faster and easier than recording with a microphone. Watch this video to see how easily I generated a TTS narration with my own voice.
